Principled Training. Always Personal.

Training that helps you feel like yourself again—just with better posture.

Most people don’t realize how far they’ve drifted from their body until something starts bugging them. That creeping forward head, stiff hips, constant tension, or general “ugh” feeling? That’s not a flaw—it’s conditioning. And conditioning can be changed.

I work one-on-one with people—usually in their 30s and beyond—who want to move better, feel steadier, and stop thinking about their body all the time because something always hurts or feels off. We start with posture and breath. We build from there.

Sessions blend corrective movement, structural strength training, and focused breath work. No fluff. No hype. Just grounded inputs that help your body support you again. Think quietly focused strength coach—not a drill sergeant in a playlist-fueled sweatbox.

If you deal with anxiety, great—so do I. This approach is steady and supportive, designed to calm your nervous system rather than overload it. Every session is tailored to you, that day, that hour.

No playlist. No hustle. Just attention.

I’ll help you feel taller, more grounded, and more capable—without the noise.

I'm a 74 year old active grandma and Matt has helped me so much.  My posture has improved as well as my balance and gait.  My breathing has improved also.  Every time I finish our session I feel so good.  I find myself walking straighter as I shop or go for a walk in the neighborhood.  I love how he can see if I need to make a change in how I'm doing an exercise to not only improve the results but to not cause unnecessary pain.  He has helped me unlearn some of the ways I exercised most of my adult life.  His knowledge  of how everything works together in our bodies is very beneficial when he is training.  I feel more flexible than I have in years.  I highly recommend Matt as a personal trainer.

I worked with Matt in a 4 week, custom version of the smooth movement program.  Coming into the program with chronic lower back and hip pain, Matt quickly identified my problem areas as well as my strengths to address the pain while teaching me beneficial posture and movement corrections.  In each session, Matt was understanding and patient while guiding me into proper form for movements.  Through it all, I found help setting up healthy conditioning goals, rather than being pressured to beat my body into submission for the sake of a workout.  After each session, my body felt more limber, strong, and capable than it had when I started.  At the end of the 4 weeks, my back and hip pain had both vanished, and I only feel the pain now when I have neglected the advice I got from Matt.  Meanwhile, the pain stops as soon as I adhere back to the habits Matt helped me set.  I highly recommend these courses, and I often tell friends and family about my experience.

I just want to thank Matt with FTD for his expert training this last 6 months. I am so much more aware of my body and how it operates. The nervous system and how it interacts with the musculoskeletal systems is not the kind of workouts I am used to. Going to the gym for much of my life I am used to pushing my body for maximum gains only to hurt myself and then having to lay off working out for a while to recover is more what I’m used to. Then starting all over again and again and again. Matt is more interested in maximizing my body’s flexibility in coordination with my strength than increasing the size of my biceps. I like FTD’s holistic approach to physical fitness and training which is geared more for long term physical health than it is toward increasing my bench press weight. I will continue to train with Matt and FTD as long as they will have me.
